halp! it’s happened again. last time it was November. I wonder if it’s an SAD releted thing? Isn’t even that dark yet but I guess the weather is changing.
Has the man never heard of windows? does everyone view in full screen? Or do they (like I do) have more than one app tiled open at a time. I’ve just done a quick poll of the browser windows I have open on my widescreen laptop (1440×90 viewable area) and the average viewable area of their windows is 1197×760.
There’s a thing Richard Hallows at Tonic pointed me to; the concept of “progressive enhancement” - the opposite of the “graceful degradation” that Mr N seems to favour. The idea rather appeals to me (I’m probably well behind the curve on this one).
Ahh I just noticed the date on the article on Hesketh. Essentialy they are describing how XML / XSLT works, which is infact, yes, a good way to design stuff.
